THEATRE – STAGE SPACE
After its success in Madrid, Preludio, starring Daniel Ortiz, is coming to Bilbao. Based on the novel by Jesús Ruiz Mantilla, the show has been adapted for the theatre, produced, directed and staged by Ortiz himself.
Preludio tells the story of the Spanish pianist León de Vega, a contradictory, controversial genius. In a fast-paced monologue, Daniel Ortiz revisits topics such as the search for perfection, salvation through art, redemption or the fear of being alone. Like the original novel, the monologue unfolds to the beat of Chopin’s Preludes, performed by pianists Tracy Xian and Alfred Cortot. Ortiz followed Chopin’s score, adding words to the musical tempo to fascinating results.
