126 years and a day since the death of Lorca will be represented by this show in the Arriaga Theatre. At this point, it is clear that, unless his remains appear, there is little to add to what is known of Lorca’s life and work. In the same way, we have already seen the separate use of each of the languages within this show: Lorca has been sung and danced, he has been acted on stage and many documentaries and films have been based on his life. However, this show proposes a different approach, based on adding these facets together, combining all these languages, making it new and original.
FEDERICO GARCÍA, by Pep Tosar, offers the audience a particularly multifaceted outlook on its main character. This is all done through five harmonising voices: the Flamenco guitar, singing, dancing, recital and documentary video. With a different type of staging, the show passes through the most outstanding episodes of the poet’s life, making connections between biographical fragments and his work over the years.
