Iparragirre created and sang beautiful and mythical songs that today are a transcendental legacy in the history of Basque music. On the bicentenary of the birth of the famous bard from Urretxu, Gontzal Mendibil brings Iparragirre back to life in a very special performance featuring the Bilbao Municipal Band and the Bilbao Choral Society. Also worth special mention is the collaboration of Gorka Hermosa on the accordion and two solo voices, with Marifé Nogales playing Caroline Duprez and Ainhoa Tabuyo as Angela Kerejeta.
Life and work blend together in Arriaga Theatre. Greatly enthralled by Bilbao, Iparragirre composed two outstanding poems which he dedicated to the city. During the concert, “Bilbao eta Fueruak Pakearentzat”, a moving song about peace and freedom, will be performed for the first time.
