Hybrid: Rhythm & Dance

A work of art based on the roots of two villages at the opposite ends of Eurasia.

26 october 2016

The Japanese dancer and choreographer, Mokoto Hirayama directs the HYBRID project, which unites her dance company with Oreka TX, and the singer of the Ainu ethnic group, Emi Toko.

This show, whose worldwide premiere was at the New National Theatre in Tokyo, offers the result of the work and exploration and experimentation between the roots of dance and the rhythms created using the txalaparta. This is a collaboration bridges the gap between different artists and disciplines.

The result is an amalgam of art which is built based on the roots of two villages at the opposite ends of Eurasia and whose centre is the physical movement created by the Japanese choreographer.
