After its success in Madrid, where it drew 100,000 theatre-goers, El curioso incidente del perro a medianoche (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time) is coming to the Arriaga Theatre. It tells the story of Christopher Boone, a boy on the autism spectrum with outstanding intellectual skills who sets out to investigate the death of his neighbour’s dog. Christopher’s peculiar way of understanding the world around him and his relationships with his father, his late mother and his mentor at school weave a moving tale of friendship, tolerance and achievement, supplemented with a variegated list of characters whom a determined Christopher meets during the investigation.
Based on the novel by Mark Haddon, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time was staged to rave reviews in New York and London, winning five Tony Awards and seven Olivier Awards, and being saluted as one of the most amazing, captivating stories of the past few years. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is a thriller and also a tale of adventure that masterfully handles suspense to reach climax and then leads to an overpowering denouement.
