Jacopo Godani and the prestigious German company, Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company, take on a choreographic and musical trilogy in this programme:
In Metamorphers, the score of the String Quartet Number 4 by Béla Bártok is embodied in the choreography. This masterpiece of 20th century music will be performed live by the Kubus Quartett.
In Echoes from a Restless Soul, the choreographic elements merge in the fascinating landscape of Ondine and Le Gibet, belonging to the Gaspard de la Nuit triptych– composed by Maurice Ravel –. Both will be performed live by Ruslan Brezbroh, the company’s pianist.
And finally, Moto Perpetuo is the dazzling neoclassical choreography that reveals, with passionate physicality and mathematic precision, the artistic essence and the identity of the company. In it, 48nord offers a formidable electronic musical horizon.
The DFDC repertoire consists mainly of the choreographies of its internationally renowned director, Jacopo Godani. His artistic objective is to produce a vibrant choreographic language based on the virtuosity of his expression and the physical challenge of the dancers’ work. The inheritance of traditional dance converges with contemporary thought in this unique proposal.
With the support of the city of Dresden and the region of Saxony, as well as the city of Frankfurt on Main and the region of Hesse. Resident company in HELLERAU – European Centre for Dresden Arts and the Bockenheimer Depot in Frankfurt on Main.
