Sending his friend Helicon to find her, see her floating on the surface of a lake, and drag her out of the water is absurd. He knows he is asking the impossible. But in his mind, it would be equally impossible to send Helicon to find meaning in the universe, a justification for living one’s own life in one way or another.
Mario Gas directs this work, which stars Pablo Derqui in the lead role (who already worked with Gas in “La muerte de un viajante”). Existential absurdity, metaphysical alienation, suffering and the logic of power are staged in this production based on “Caligula”, one of Albert Camus’ great dramatic pieces.
