As of the 2017/2018 season, visitors with hearing impairments will be able to enjoy the shows using two new systems: sound amplifiers and individual hearing loops.
Sound amplifiers consist of earphones transmitting the sounds on stage more clearly. They can be used by people with hearing impairments or by those visitors who just want to enhance their auditory experience at the theatre.
As to hearing loops, they are targeted at people with hearing aids or cochlear implants. The hearing loop sends a magnetic, wireless signal that is picked up by the hearing device. This way, the spectators can effortlessly listen to the shows.
The implementation of these new systems was possible thanks to the cooperation of Teatro Accesible, an initiative to make theatrical performances accessible to people with disabilities and seniors.
