VIENTOS DEL PUEBLO

by Pep Tosar, based on the life and work of Miguel Hernández

Recorrido vital de un poeta excepcional, que rompió moldes y derribó normas.

29 november 2026

To tell the life of Miguel Hernández is always an adventure; and it is so because his profile breaks moulds and overturns rules and statistics. He stands as a truly exceptional case, both as a writer and as a man. It is also an adventure because behind the construction of his biographical narrative lies a task of recovery and clearing away the rubble, of distancing him from the clichés that turned him into a banner, a martyr, and a sorrowful shepherd-poet. This performance seeks to return him to his natural state, to his condition as a passionate militant of life, stripped of legend; and to captivate the audience with the life journey of a poet who, in just twelve years of writing, justified his vocation by leaving future editors four thousand pages of blessed words.

Miguel Hernández died very young, but in those 31 years of life he traced an unprecedented path in the history of contemporary literature. He managed to become a necessary poet, as Antonio Buero Vallejo described him, in a turbulent time divided for him into, on the one hand, six years of Republic, disillusionment and promises, and, on the other, another six of fierce conflict and imprisonment prolonged by Francoism. Pep Tosar offers us a performance that retains his unmistakable signature and embraces a multidisciplinary format: guitar, sung voice, acting, contemporary dance and documentary video.
