UNA HISTORIA DE BILBAO
A humorous and nostalgic vision of a Basque Country that will never return.
Hook, by Spielberg; Labyrinth, with David Bowie; A Christmas Carol, by Dickens… This play is a version of all these classics and, at the same time, of none of them. It is a nostalgic tribute to an industrial, rusty, down-to-earth and beautiful Euskal Herria that will never return. A show that touches the heartstrings and tickles the soul of working-class neighbourhood people — from any neighbourhood — all those of us who have walked the streets, the mud and the docks.
Amid polluted estuaries, graffiti, syringes, *bilbainadas*, Basque dialects and political troubles, two actors perform the story of a Basque family over the course of 100 years, transforming themselves into different characters who will feel anything but unfamiliar. Come and join us on this magical and endless night… We are going to leave our hearts on stage.
