Sebastián is the master of all he surveys. The mill, the hermitage, the river… However, even though he has properties, he also has many debts and decides to marry a young heiress from a good family. It is all a strategy to have the mortgages and embargos removed from his houses and lands. But first, he must hide his relationship with Marta, a young girl who works at the mill.
“Tierra baja” has been a reference for Lluís Homar his whole life long. Now, Homar is taking on all the roles: not only the ingenuous Manelic, who clambers down from the high grounds into the quagmire of the most turbulent human passions, but also Marta, and even Señor Sebastián. In other words, he plays Red Riding Hood and the Wolf at the same time. This production offers a modern reading of one of the most emblematic works of Catalan literature, which moves away from the most famous representations staged to date.
Max 2014 Award for best male actor in a leading role goes to Lluís Homar
