The legendary musical by Richard O’Brien arrives at the Teatro Arriaga with the same production from London, in its original version (with subtitles in Spanish) that has been performed with great success in the West End under the direction of Christopher Luscombe. Premiering in June 1973 at the Royal Court Theatre, *THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW* has become the contemporary musical that has run the longest without interruption. In this half-century of performances, more than 35 million people have seen the musical around the world, in over 30 countries and translated into 20 languages.

*THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW* tells the story of two naive university students: Brad and his fiancée Janet. When, by a twist of fate, their car breaks down in front of a creepy mansion while they are on their way to visit their former university professor, they meet the charismatic Dr. Frank’n’Furter. It’s an adventure they will never forget, full of fun, games, costumes, and frivolity.

With a cast of 15 actors and actresses on stage, accompanied by live music from The Rocky Horror Band—the same group that plays in the West End of London—*THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW* is a guaranteed party, combining science fiction, horror, comedy, and music, while encouraging audience participation, which, of course, means dressing up in the most extravagant costumes.

The musical, whose soundtrack includes songs that have become pop culture classics—such as *Sweet Transvestite*, *Damn It Janet*, and *Time Warp*—has been performed by major stars like Susan Sarandon, Russel Crowe, Tim Curry, Jason Donovan, and Meat Loaf. Some of them also worked on the beloved successful film *The Rocky Horror Picture Show*, directed by Jim Sharman and written by Richard O’Brien, who played the butler Riff Raff in the film, a role he had originally portrayed in the first theatre production.
