THE FAIRY QUEEN
A young and vibrant take on a landmark title, acclaimed on the international stage.
Created in 2002, *Le Jardin des Voix* is the young artists’ academy of *Les Arts Florissants*. Under the direction of William Christie and Paul Agnew, this biennial academy welcomes young classical singers at the beginning of their careers, offering them a professional experience in the baroque repertoire that includes an international tour with *Les Arts Florissants*.
In this context, the most recent edition focused on Henry Purcell’s *The Fairy Queen*, with choreography and stage direction by Mourad Merzouki, a highly acclaimed artist and specialist in hip-hop.
The Teatro Arriaga is proud to host this fascinating project, which has received international acclaim at some of the most renowned festivals: Lucerne, Bremen, Tanglewood concert series… It has also been featured at the BBC Proms and prestigious venues such as Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Philharmonie de Paris, Lincoln Center in New York, Palau de les Arts in Valencia, and the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, among others. Their upcoming commitments include a tour in South America with concerts in Rio de Janeiro, Montevideo, and Bogotá.
