RIKARDO III ETA NI
"And everyone who seeks to live well strives to rely on himself and live without a conscience." — Act I, Scene 4
Three Shakespearean geeks take the stage. These three lovers of William Shakespeare’s work embark on their own theatrical hallucination of the famous play Richard III. In doing so, the actors select fragments of the original text, delve into its themes and underlying symbols, passionately debate their favourite playwright, and playfully invent their own unique version.
Who really is Richard? Does this character show any trace of moral conscience? How far can the thirst for power drag us? Do the mechanisms of political power still work today the same way they did back then?
These three geeks will try to answer all these questions through humour, critique, play, dance, and various scenes from the play. We’ll leap from drama to dance and from there to therapy. Amid all this chaos, one question will inevitably arise in the minds of the audience: Could Richard III be each one of us?
