PEEPING TOM
Spasmodic movements, virtuosic solos, and subtle touches of humour in an imaginative double bill.
The renowned Belgian company Peeping Tom arrives at Teatro Arriaga with their double bill Diptych: The missing door and The lost room. In this programme, Peeping Tom revisits and reinvents two short pieces originally created a decade ago by Gabriela Carrizo and Franck Chartier for Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT 1).
In Diptych, the characters, lost in time and space, drift apart and search for one another. When they set off on this journey in pursuit of an ideal, they were full of hope, but reality led them towards an uncertain destiny. They try to find a path through the meanderings of their thoughts, as they relive and recreate their memories—open to distortion. Diptych unveils a melancholic nostalgia for the future.
