What happened in 1985 outside a building in Algorta between someone who could be my cousin and someone who could be my brother? Today, more than 30 years later, nobody wants to talk about that time of violence and hatred. Will theatre help us to heal our wounds?
In Los Gondra (una historia vasca) the author Borja Ortiz de Gondra explored 100 years in the history of a Basque family to find out how we got here. In Los otros Gondra (relato vasco), he looks disconcertedly around and tries to examine where we are heading. How important might surnames and blood ties be to new generations? Perhaps the time has come to ask questions and find reasons for hope.
