Amaia Zubiria eta Edorta Amurua

Amaia Zubiria, one of the Basque Country’s greatest singers, is offering a musical evening filled with Basque poetry old and new, treating audiences to her trademark vocal quality. She will be accompanied by Edorta Amurua on guitar and vocals. These two musicians are united not only by magnificent musical complicity but also by something else, since they are mother and son.

Amaia Zubiria has been an essential artist in the history of Basque music since the 1970s when, as a member of the group Haizea, together with Txomin Artola, she made the records Haizea and Hontz gaua. Since then, her career has been extremely prolific, including music for film, 12 solo albums, and a collection of popular songs recorded with the accordionist Joxan Goikoetxea.
