With the end of the Napoleonic era around 1830, a revitalised spirit flourished in Germany. A new ideal evolved with the objective of achieving a confluence between music and a poetic cause that would validate it. This ambition was to flood European musical creation for several generations of composers and performers beyond the start of the 20th century.

In 1840, Schumann discovered a new world of poetic and musical possibilities in the Lied which helped him overcome his resistance to vocal music. Liederkreis are vocal cycles with piano accompaniment that can be performed by sopranos, mezzo-sopranos, tenors, or baritones.

On this occasion, there is an opportunity to hear the mezzo-soprano Marina Pinchuck accompanied by the pianist Aurelio Viribay perform the Lieder, op. 24, based on poems by Heinrich Heine, and the Zwölf Gedichte von Justinus Kerner cycle, Op. 35 (Justinus Kerne).
