BILBOtik VALENCIAra

Bizkaia, August 1983. Those tragic floods flooded us with solidarity, with volunteers coming from all corners of the peninsula. This time, the disaster has struck the Valencian Community in an even more dramatic way than what we experienced here four decades ago.

The *Masa Coral del Ensanche* and the other participants in the “Bilbainismo Centenario en el Arriaga” gala, held on May 5th to great critical and public acclaim, after reflecting on what could be done in the face of this catastrophe, decided to repeat that concert under the title “BILBOtik VALENCIAra,” this time for charitable purposes in aid of those affected by the DANA in Valencia. The *Masa Coral del Ensanche*, Los Chimberos, and soprano Patricia Sésar, accompanied on the piano by Georgina Barrios and conducted by Ana Begoña Hernández Soengas, will perform typical songs from Bilbao, as well as other popular pieces from lyrical music. The Bilbao Municipal Band is unable to join them on this occasion, as they have other prior commitments.

The entire proceeds from this concert will be donated to two musical institutions based in the ground zero area of the DANA, which have seen their facilities destroyed and lost almost all of their instruments and musical archives: the *Banda Primitiva de Paiporta* and the *Unió Musical de Paiporta*.

For those who cannot attend this solidarity concert but wish to contribute to the cause, a donation line via Bizum has been set up.
