UN PASEO TEATRAL CON ARRIAGA Y SU MÚSICA
Unusual corners of the theatre filled with live music by Arriaga… and a few surprises along the way.
The Teatro Arriaga will mark the 200th anniversary of the death of the composer who gave the theatre its name, Juan Crisóstomo de Arriaga, with a very special event in January 2026.
To celebrate this milestone, the theatre has prepared a unique experience that will allow visitors to explore the building from the inside—including areas not usually open to the public, such as the stage and dressing rooms.
The tour, guided and performed by actors Koldo Olabarri and Ainhoa Etxebarria, will include several stops along the way, where attendees will enjoy live performances by students from the Juan Crisóstomo de Arriaga Conservatory of Music.
A total of 38 young musicians from 4th and 6th year of the Professional Grade will perform Arriaga’s compositions in different groups, spread throughout the theatre’s various spaces. And who knows… they might even run into Arriaga himself wandering the halls.
We also remind you that on 17 January, the exact date of the composer’s death, the concert Arriaga y el eco de su tiempo
