CONCERT – FOYER SPACE

The musical trio Khantoria, expanded on this occasion with the addition of a cello, presents a new programme that presents and contextualises the music of Joaquin Ojinaga (Bilbao, 1719 – Toledo, 1789), one of the most important Basque composers of the 18th century, to mark the 300th anniversary of his birth. Ojinaga’s only compositions to have survived into the present day are 2 sonatas, 2 minuets, and 7 fugues for keyboard instruments.

Following the customs of the time, Khantoria will perform these works both on the solo harpsichord, and as arrangements for chamber ensembles played on original instruments. At the same concert, the ensemble will also perform pieces by undeniable masters such as Scarlatti and Bach.
