IVÁN FERREIRO

Cuentos y Canciones is an intimate and disjointed journey through Iván Ferreiro’s musical career. Based on stories, adaptations and of course his songs, with audiovisual support and a special unexpected repertoire, Iván goes over his biography and explains how some songs originated in a format somewhere between the concert and the storyteller.

Born in Vigo, Galicia, Ivan Ferreiro is one of the most prolific and ingenious artists known to the indie pop-rock culture in Spain. He was a pioneer of the most alternative pop-rock sounds in Spanish along with his bandmates of the group PIRATAS, one of the most influential groups of the late 1990s, whose sound was a precursor to many of the indie bands that triumph today. With his former band Piratas he had many great hits and they were even nominated for the MTV European awards as best Spanish band (Frankfurt 2001). Later, as a solo artist or collaborating with other artists, he has continued to maintain the same interest in innovating and creating, scarcely taking a break from composing.
