Set in Berlin in the 1930s, Cabaret tells the story of the characters who let themselves be led by their heart in a world that is collapsing. The Kit Kat Club stages the coexistence between the unstoppable growth of Nazism and the pretence of normality by the leading characters.
The libretto, music and song lyrics are the work of three of the most renowned names in the history of musical theatre: Joe Masteroff, John Kander and Fred Ebb. Its wonderful soundtrack masterfully underlines the story to make Cabaret one of the most important works of film and musical theatre of all times.
The musical, Cabaret made its debut on Broadway in 1966, and has since been performed in over 50 countries and translated into over 30 languages.
