In 2026, the Chamber of Commerce, the University of Deusto and the Sociedad Coral de Bilbao will jointly celebrate their 140th anniversary. This special occasion brings together the Philips Symfonie Orkest from Eindhoven and the symphonic choir of the Sociedad Coral, under the baton of maestro Txemi Etxebarria. The programme features two great 20th-century masterpieces: *Gloria* by Francis Poulenc, a choral piece renowned for its powerful expressiveness, and Symphony No. 10 by Dmitri Shostakovich, widely regarded as a profound musical reflection on freedom and resistance in the face of political tension.

The Sociedad Coral de Bilbao is a cultural reference point, collaborating regularly with prominent international orchestras. Meanwhile, the Philips Symfonie Orkest, originally created by employees of the Philips company, is known for the quality of its performances in renowned concert halls.
